About the role

You will be responsible for the National School’s general practice clinical placements and elective placements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for General Practice placements, including coordinating financial arrangements and facilitating the preparation and execution of Placement Agreements with General Practices.
  • Coordinate and administer all aspects of General Practice placements for students enrolled in the MD program, including managing documentation associated with the Australian Government Practice Incentives Program.
  • Process financial transactions, including requisitions, purchase orders and receipting.
  • Manage and administer the MD electives program for penultimate and final year students, including coordinating placement logistics, documentation and stakeholder communication.
  • Support the Clinical Placements team in the planning, coordination and implementation of the clinical placement program.
  • Maintain and manage student placement data, assisting with reporting requirements and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of student records.
  • Provide high-quality administrative support across a range of School operational activities and events (e.g., Open Days and OSCEs), working collaboratively with key stakeholders and internal business units to support successful delivery.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Completion of a Degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating programs with a high level of responsibility and organisation.
  • Experience with SONIA would be highly desirable.
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, set and achieve realistic goals and establish work priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with ability to liaise effectively with students, academic staff and members of the medical community.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise tact, discretion, initiative and sound judgment.
  • Highly developed computer literacy, experience in particular with Excel and Word. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic processes within the higher education sector.
  • Highly developed time management skills with an ability to manage concurrent detailed matters from beginning to end.
  • Proven record of preparing high quality documentation with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
